It's just one man's opinion, but he's in a position to know. A fellow named
Aaron Goss, president of Aaron's Bicycle Repair, Inc., in Seattle, wrote to
trade magazine Bicycle Retailer and Industry News to express concerns about
the ubiquity of carbon fiber cycling products.
Goss is an admitted carbon cynic. He says flat-out, "Our view has always
been that carbon fiber's disadvantages outweigh its supposed advantages."

can be repaired once it is cracked.

you stick with it. There is no right or wrong as long as you enjoy riding.

them.
but I think their complain is very similar to weather's complain, that most
customers are clueless. me paramount bike is a great example: everything on
that bike was worked on (by the owner I suppose) and everything was wrong.

发帖数: 1498 | 8 yeah that's always a problem, steel or carbon. the only difference is that
if it's steel you can somewhat repair it, and if it's aluminium it's still
more error tolerant than carbon. if it's carbon, especially in the case of
seatpost, the room for error is much smaller.

发帖数: 10218 | 9 I have aluminum, carbon, steel, and titanium mountain bikes. They have very
different riding characteristics and I found I enjoy them all. The carbon
frame is not weaker than any others.
The trend is definitely going towards carbon. More and more carbon frames
will be available at $500 level. This is effectively eliminating small
builders. |
