a pickup truck.
Roof rack can also be installed on SUV. In fact it might be easier since
most SUV will have the rails or even cross bars. All you need are the bike
carriers. if you don't mind take off the front wheel, go with fork mount
carriers. Otherwise, be carefully with the wheel-on carriers. You might find
them too flexy. Yakima High Roller seems to be pretty stable, relatively.
A tow hitch can be added onto most cars, with little or no drilling involved
. Another nice hitch rack is 1up USA. Check it out.
But frankly, Mutu's question is too open ended and he didn't bother to
provide more info such as his bike, his car, his commute, and any other
concerns he might have. I guess if he really wanted to get good answer he
would have spent a little more time to formulate his question. Instead,
suckers like you and me are trying to cover all bases.
Anyway, if the bike was acquired from Walmart, by all means get a trunk
mount (check out Saris bones). If its a all carbon time trial machine, roof
rack is a must.

其实母兔现在根本用不着买rack，前轮（后轮）拆了扔trunk了就搞定。我那样子搞了好几年。又省钱，又安全。

拆了前轮放trunk的话, 后排座椅需要放倒吗? 我的车是小小的civic...
还有mountain bike这样放的话会不会太脏,特别是骑完回来?
了好几年。又省钱，又安全。

lot fun with it (or hate it). BTW, you don't want to keep that one in the
trunk. It'll come with a thru axel fork, PITA to take off the front wheel
every time. Better get a hitch rack or roof rack. Again you don't want to
take the wheels off.
Good to see another mountain biker. Where are you located?

Thru axle fork is something I've never even seen before. We don't have big
hills/mountains or rocky trails in Ontario. So, a hard-tail XC MTB is good
enough most of the time.
And looks like you'll need an Thru Axle Fork Adaptor if you choose a roof
rack.

偏downhill的all mountain bike.
如果不把front wheel拆下来放不进trunk吗？把后排都放倒的话？

前后suspension的气压貌似被调得很奇怪. trail head有热心的rider帮我稍微调了一
下.不过我自己也刚刚order了shock pump准备自己好好调sag
一有空就拍照奔车~
