A*****y 发帖数: 300 | 1 It’s all just a blur now.
The trail is quiet. For miles there is not a person to be seen.
The clouds are still heavy but the rain has tampered off.
The air is moist and cool and when you get up to speed it chills
just right. The new Pearl Izume bike shorts are doing wonders to
my butt and I’m putting down a nice clip without feeling exertion
much. The audio book on 李白's life is getting interesting.
He's the best poet in Chinese history bar none. But maybe he had
had got his life’s priority wrong. Why not just settling down as
a genius poet instead of trying to be a great bureaucrat like every
other literatus in Chinese history because he's obviously not
good at politics? Then again, without trying, how do you know you
are not made for it? But if you do try, how do you know when to hold on
and when to give up?
Now I think about, there are danger signs everywhere. Fallen branches
are all over the road and even trees can often been seen laying
along the sides with torn trunks exposing the jagged and fresh
wound. One might wonder how one could not see a tree branch as big as a
horse laying right in the middle of the road on a straight stretch
in daylight. But it's only about 10 yards away when I do see it just
laying there in the way taking up the whole road not only having
no intention of moving out my way but also leaving no room for me to
maneuver out its way. It just lays there, calm and confident,
waiting for me to run right into with brakes barely squeezed.
Good thing I’m wearing a helmet today I thought looking into the
gray sky from the pavement.
Getting up, I felt nauseous and feared for concussion then I realized
it’s the blood seeping from the wound and running down the forearm.
The elbow got very nasty and painful abrasions and already started
to swell. The oozing blood is of such bright red that I have never seen
before and looking at it made me feel sick in stomach. I dragged
the branch off the road and sat on it for awhile heaving, surprised to
feel with just some thin sticks and leaves it weighted as heavy as a horse.
Now I know why so many have had road rash I thought. The bike’s front
wheel was bended a little and popped out of its axle and the chain was
drooping out the place. After putting them back, however, it felt still
pretty rideable. I washed the blood and dirt grits off the wound with
bitterly-bitting water and didn’t see too much coming out again and decided
to ride on.
This should scare them enough I thought and felt like a freaking rider from
