发帖数: 299 | 4 He he, we had a dance class (Rumba and Salsa) this semester and after we
learnt some Rumba steps, the coach just told us to dance the same steps to
Salsa music :-) Of course, the basic steps are different...

mean, there are some figures you can do in both chacha and rumba.
-follower walks to leader
-follower turns to the right and gets into fan position (hockey stick?)

Of course the steps and rhythm are totally different for the two dances, but
you kind of walk the same route.

发帖数: 332 | 6 I don’t think salsa and chacha are very similar. However, I do agree with
moonraker that salsa is similar to rumba. I would say the dances in
descending similarity to salsa are:
mambo (almost the same in rhythm and music, except you go on 2,3,4 and hold
1 in mambo, and you go on 1,2,3 and hold the 4 in salsa), and then American
rumba (which you go on 1,2,3 and hold the 4 or you go on 3,4,1 and hold the
2) and at last, the international rumba (which you go on 2,3,4 and hold the
