didn't read it but I guess I may have some idea about those 'offensive' part

quote "... (my competition experience was not good/rewarding),
because i never had a good partner" unquote
as a matter of fact when she was an amateur and when she was a pro,
she had good dedicated partners.
some of the things she said in the book is true. but because of
the quoted words of hers, i deem her as a quote unquote "loser".
