I went to watch with one of the teachers. I said sometimes it is so
difficult to tell which ones are better than others. She asked 'what are you
looking at?" I said "well...tech, figures, connection, blah blah." She said
, "look at their eyes. you'll see from their eyes that some dancers don't
know what they are doing. things that are truly beautiful have to come from
inside."
那是我那天最大的收获.

I think what she meant is: the emotions expressed from eyes (of course not
only strictly from eyes, but it is difficult to lie in eyes.)
