the same rate for any student, beginner or not. Maybe she/he has a lower
rate for kids.
not sure about bay area. ask moonraker or sensualgirl.
in nyc, i think the general rate is $80-100 for decent dancers. of course it
can be $120, $140 and above for certain stars. i think at one time i heard
karina's lesson is $160 at a dance camp.
remember private lesson is a long-term investment. it's not thing you do
once for all. Even at $80, if you prepare to take it once a week for a year,
it's gonna be some figure...

$80+ per class is normal for a good teacher in the bay area. Vaidas once
told me (several years ago) that Shirley Ballas' charged $250 per class. It
might be higher now. Well, she is Shirley... :)
BTW, I finally had a chance to learn from one-and-the-only Andrew Sinkinson.
The majority people in this quickstep lecture were the local folks dancing
at the amateur senior championship category, plus me dancing as a beginner,
plus two kids who dance better than me. Andrew Sinkinson commented that only
20% of the people (excluding me since I did not dance) in the class were on
beat...
His footwork is amazing, but not his belly...

lesson with the recently ranked professionals (i.e.those who placed in
rising stars and above at profession events in major competitions). And that is also the caliber that I would be expecting for such a price range. |
