Database Administrator
Position Title: Database Administrator
Division/Department: BKV IT & BKV Media

Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to develop quality technology
solutions/applications that address business needs for the purposes of
reporting & planning.
The Database Administrator will be responsible for creating &
maintaining end-to-end solutions based on project scope.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with media dept to create databases to meet end user and company
needs
Review overall physical database structures for data integrity,
performance quality, recoverability, maintenance, and space requirement
considerations
Assist in the definition and resolution of database problems
Create database queries, indexes and stored procedures, some with a high
degree of complexity
Design complex physical and logical data models
Performance-tune and optimize all databases
Install and configure any new data servers (hardware, software, physical
databases)
Develop, test and administer database security procedures
Responsible for all aspects of application development including;
discovery, design, testing plan, implementation, support, & maintenance
Project Management providing time estimates by task using Gantt charts
or other format
Work with all parties involved on projects to gather requirements and
distill down to a comprehensive, manageable undertaking
May serve as liaison between Media, IT and application end users
Understand the business application of each project
Work with Analysts utilizing client’s reporting tools to set up custom
reports as needed (Omniture, Dart Search, Google Analytics, Keyword Max,
etc.)
Create any custom reports & dashboards as needed for routine reporting
or custom ad hoc reporting
Create and maintain user manuals and technical documentation
Work with Analysts for regular weekly data audits
Go-To person for campaign tracking code and site tagging issues or
implementation questions as these issues affect data integrity
Qualifications and Suitability:
Excellent knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008 (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
System modeling and database design best practices
1 + years creating extremely complex Stored Procedures and ad hoc
queries
1 + years creating reports MS SSRS
1 + years experience with SSIS
Educational knowledge of SSAS and data warehousing
Experience in creating front end methods for users to manage segments of
data (importing, updating, deleting)
Design and develop performance tuning methodologies utilizing
Microsoft performance tools and/or 3rd party vendor tools (ERwin)
Degree in Information Systems or similar
Excellent communication skills
Understand business needs & desired output
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Very strong analytic, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
Other Key Items to Consider:
Will work on multiple tasks at once
Will receive interruptions for immediate needs
Will need to be able to prioritize projects based on current
requirements
Other General Comments:
Will report to IT department as staff member and will report to BKV
Media Supervisor regarding day-to-day work load
