Senior Datawarehouse Developer
Work for an international management consulting firm in the Banking and
Capital Markets group and be a senior database developer/advisor to high
level management.
The Senior Data Warehouse Developer provides technical support and direction
in the development and support of the Data Warehouse, Data Mart, and
Business Intelligence solutions.
Duties and Responsiblities
*Participates in all phases of the development life-cycle with minimal
direction.
*Interfaces with analysts to review requirements and develop design
specification documents.
*Rapidly learns business processes and able to effectively offer suggestions
to improve the design or performance of the implementation.
*Designs and develops new database objects including procedures, ETL
packages, data marts, universes, and reports as per the business user
requirements and jobs as per the business user requirements and the design
documentation.
*Provides production support and maintenance of database and BI applications
and objects used within the data warehouse, data marts, and BI solutions,
and works with other team members in optimizing system performance,
addressing operational issues, resolving production problems and providing
timely follow up.
*Knowledgeable about the data residing in the data warehouse and can deliver
the information to business customers through technology to meet specific
business needs.
*Provides highly technical consulting and leadership in identifying and
implementing new uses of BI technologies which assist the functional
business units in meeting their strategic objectives
Develops systems specifications based on business requirements and process
flows.
Develops data flow, application and ER diagrams and technical specifications
.
Works as a member of a matrix managed organization within a development team
to implement software that meets business requirements and technical
specifications.
Develop software components based on a specifications, following a set of
company defined processes and methods.
Develops production migration steps, and perform unit and system integration
testing.
Works with the rest of the team to continually improve development standards
, tools, code templates, checklists and other company methods, processes,
and documentation.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading

Skills and Experience
*A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, and at
least 7 years of developing and implementing applications in the workplace.
*Experience designing systems in a distributed software environment is
required.
*Utilized development and architectural standards, methodologies, version
control, software deployment preferred, packaging and quality control.
*3+ years Business Objects Universe Design and Report Design/Development
*10+ Database Design/Development - SQL Server ,SSAS, SSIS, Oracle (a plus)
*Strong stored procedure development experience
*Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence analysis, design and development
experience (including Dimensional Data Modeling - Star Schema, Facts &
Dimensions)
*Strong analytical skills, especially data analysis and problem resolution
*Ability and willingness to learn quickly and independently and work on
multiple technologies simultaneously
*P&C insurance experience in Data Warehousing is a big plus

Data Architect-Datawarehouse/BI
Work for a major European Bank in downtown NYC and close to all major
transportation hubs.
* The role of the Data Architect is to expand the company*s use of data as a
strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives.
* The Data Architect will achieve this by strategically designing,
developing, and implementing data models for enterprise-level applications
and systems. These models shall be architected at the following layers:
conceptual, logical, business area, and application.
* This individual will act as the primary advocate of data modeling
methodologies and data processing best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision
and standards in conjunction with data users, department managers, clients,
and other key stakeholders.
* Create short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term objectives and
an overall data management roadmap.
* Establish processes for governing the identification, collection, and use
of corporate metadata; take steps to assure metadata accuracy and validity.

* Hands-on experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data
modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis.
* Direct experience in implementing enterprise data management processes,
procedures, and decision support.
* Strong understanding of relational data structures, theories, principles,
and practices.
* Strong familiarity with metadata management and associated processes.
* Hands-on knowledge of enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools,
data mapping tools, and data profiling tools.
* Demonstrated expertise with repository creation, and data and information
system life cycle methodologies.
* Experience with business requirements analysis, entity relationship

* Ability to manage data and metadata migration.
