申请的学校今天来信说:
In reviewing your file, you indicated that you are a non-citizen. If you
are a refugee or permanent resident, forward a copy of your permanent
resident card, alien registration card (Form 1551) or a copy of the passport
stamp worded "Processed for 1-551" in order for us to complete your
application. A copy of the card must be forwarded to our office within 30
days from the date of this email or your application will be sent to
International Admissions for processing.
我觉得我应该不算是international admission吧.在美国已经好几年了.也在美国上过
学,现在有收入也在交所住州的税.请大家帮我看看,问题比较多,比较着急,谢谢大家了. | l****c

For IRS, they have a little different definition for tax purpose.
For example,if you live here over 5 years,you can file tax as resident alien
or resident. But we are talking about immigration here.

发帖数: 4192 | 3 这个定义不同的地方不一样。对于学校来说，基本上每个学校都是自己定义。公立的学
校一般来说和州政府的定义相同。看USCIS,google都没用，必须找出你申请的学校的官
方文件。

发帖数: 838 | 4 I think you probably still belong to international student before your green
card
is approved. You can tell the school like " don't have green card", they
should
issue you I-20, but once you get green card, you need to update your status.
You case is very special, not sure. I am not expert and I was out of
school for several years.
