General Information:
Effective March 1st, 2010, all US Citizens are required to present a valid
US Passport * when entering Mexico by air, land or sea.
US Permanent Residents traveling by air, land or sea to Mexico are required
to present a valid Permanent Residency Card, as well as a valid passport *
from their country of origin or travel document.
Non US Permanent Residents. Starting May 1st, 2010, all foreign nationals
who visit Mexico for tourist, business or transit matters will not need a
Mexican visa as long as they have a valid US visa in their passport.
If the US visa stamped in your passport* already expired, but you have an
official document or form proving your legal status in the United States,
you should apply for a Non-Lucrative visa at this Consulate. (Please note
that I-797 A Forms, Advance Parole Forms, I-20 OR DS-2019 Forms will not be
sufficient to enter Mexico)
For Diplomatic and Official visas, please contact the Visa Department at the
Mexican Consulate.
It is recommendable that the passports should have at least 6 months
validity before expiration.
