the key may be in finding new markets / applications, not in new technology

Medical is another OK mkt that will demand some low power ICs and low Frq RF
, while the cycle is long and margin is small, compared to consumer e.
RF is RF, hot right now. It’s said RFMD is doing well, right?

I wouldn't bet on it.
there core market (RF power amps) is going through a sea change. more and
more digital functions are being incorporated into and the chip set makers
are mastering more power: they will buy rf transceiver modules and integrate
them onto their silicon.
I tend to imagine that it is going to be hard for rfmd to survive on its own. |
