我对这方向一无所知,但是似乎有这个area的教授有兴趣招学生。 |

l****9 发帖数: 66 | 3 I am not sure, but it is described as "plasma engineering with applications
in ICs, MEMS, and materials"...I think it is more related to semiconductor
devices... |
g***i 发帖数: 795 | 4 it could be related to plasma assisted deposition or etching, future career
opportunity will be semiconductor equipment manufacturer,
such as ASML, applied materials etc. In 10 years, you will get more and more
such job openings in China, but probably less and less in US, IMHO. |
H*****l 发帖数: 702 | 5 Plasma is a very useful technique
esp. in PECVD system
But plasma physics?
I think her career will be in semiconductor tool area, like AMAT tool
department or oerlikon( I miss spell it again?)
such departments will still be in U.S. or EU not in China |

Sputtering systems all use plasma. Dry etching systems all use plasma, too.
Plasma is also used in some low-temperature CVD and ALD systems, which are
called as PECVD and PEALD. Ion implanters use plasma a bit as well.
A background of plasma physics will help a lot to understand the plasma-
associated processes.
You can try Applied Materials, Lam Research, Novellus, Varian, and a few
others. |
