InP Fabry-Perot 激光器的 L-I curves (见图), 有三个不同的阈值电流,对应三个
不同的cavity lengths:150um, 300um, and 600um.
其他条件: 激光器发射1.55um的光, confinement factor:0.3,
an effective index of InP: n=3.2, a device width of 2um,
an active region thickness of 200nm,
a bimolecular recombination coefficient of B=10^-10 cm^3/s.

The refractive index n is used to calculate the reflectivity of the two
facets. (One simple question for you, do you know what that is?)
Another question, can we assume the confinement factor for current is 1? I
do not know much about bimolecular recombination, could you explain it a
little bit?

1. The output power is for two-facet.
2. This is a 作业题。原题的描述就是这个样子。
3. I know R=((n-1)/(n+1))^2
4. We can assume the confinement factor for current is 1, and I don't know
the bimolecular recombination too.
By the way, I know g=alpha+ln(1/R)/L
But I have no idea how to get a relation between g (gain coefficient) and
threshold current.

What I mean is you need draw a picture like that output photo number per
second vs input electron per second. By that way, you can solve the problem
more easily.
Then you have a known number in the following equestion.
what you wrote is gth (the threshold gain per unit length) . This is the
threshold. For different length of the cavity, the gth is different due to
the fact that L is different.
