those are very mature areas that require tons of resources, monetary,
human and / or knowledge.
a huge advantage of someone who has worked here is that they get
exposure to the latest / greatest technology and develop a sense of
what's coming down the pike. That's something your chinese competitors
don't have, or cannot obtain inexpensively, nor quickly.

it is to find a demand, and then figure out a product / service to satisfy
that demand profitably.
for that, the last thing you need is EE, or bioengineering.
you need a creative mind, curiosity in things you don't k now and exposures
to new worlds / new ways of doing things. |

Tell you something I know, in 2000, a local Black-white medical ultrasound
company in China was bought by a Medical Giant, and they start to develop laptop
ultrasound machine, like you said, this kind of machine can be used like
laptop without any AC power supply for couple of hours. They suceed in 2003-
2003, and that was their first generation of color laptop ultrasound machine
, then after that, they developed the second generation. The

there is still markets for that. the key isn't to market it as a medical
device, at least in developed countries. you should market it as a
homecare device, in countries where medical care is expensive, mortality
is high and / or product liability is low.

最关键的恰好不是你所谓的creative mind,而是找到资源去做事的执行能力。

发帖数: 59 | 12 MRI, CT etc might not be good candidate. Too expensive, volume too small.
Patient monitoring, ultrasound are good.
But if you are top guy in a field. It is not really matter. For example,
for ultrasound system, the most important part is beamformer.
If you can solve the following problem:
- A low noise power supply and very good response time.
- Analog or mixed signal beamformer ASIC.
You will be very important person in the company.
