RIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for identifying and justifying new product opportunities with
Marketing and Sales. Product development process is “hands-on” and
includes the project management, concept, design, simulation, verification,
analysis, characterization, qualification, to volume production of multi-
gigabit copper transceivers. Will lead a multifunctional team according to
the priorities set by Engineering Management. Establishes product
development plans, schedule, and completes projects on time and according to
the specified performance requirements and costs. Provides technical
support to marketing to consolidate inputs from marketing, customers and
industry standards groups into product concepts and detailed requirements.
Presents concepts and detailed requirements internally and to customers to
obtain support for development of major new products. Completes projects
according to internal product development procedures and ISO/QS requirements
. Supports Molex TQM program by following approved policies and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Electrical design to include schematics, PCB layout, testing, and
verification of standard and custom multi-gigabit copper adapters and
components. Design experience with electromagnetic transmission lines and
frequencies 1Gbps - 25Gbps.
2 Experience with digital sampling oscilloscopes, communication analyzers,
pattern generators, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and bit error
rate testers required.
3 Working knowledge of EMC/EMI tests and compliance.
4 Interface with the high speed adapter development teams in the development
and implementation of work instructions, bill of materials, and routers for
new and ongoing products. Multi-discipline team includes customers,
suppliers, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and marketing.
5 Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the
ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
6 Supports mechanical engineering, production, and quality in the
development and implementation of work instructions, bill of materials, and
routers for new and ongoing products.
7 Analytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions observes
results and makes corrections.
8 Understand, support, and contribute to Molex TQM and Quality /
Environmental Management Systems by following approved policies and
procedures
9 Other duties as required by management.
EDUCATION
Required: B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
Preferred: MSEE
WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum of 5 years job experience. Extensive knowledge of the
design of active RF/High Speed Electronics circuitry. A working knowledge of
transmission line circuitry, PCB design analysis, signal integrity and EMI
is necessary. CAD experience is a plus. Expertise in the use of analytical
tools, (Mentor Graphics, Protel, ORCAD, Allegro), AutoCAD, Microsoft Word,
Excel, and Power Point experience required. Project management skills that
demonstrate the ability to set goals and priorities to complete projects in
a systematic and timely manner. | u**u
