Job Description:
Working with the IoT (Internet of Things) Strategy and Business Development
Team, the Business Development Engineers will sell the value of Silicon Labs
wireless and MCU products in pre-sales, post sales, and drive the
architecture with the customer. The Field Applications Engineer will be
technically focused. It is a consultative sell at the architectural level.
This is not a technical support role but the Business Development Engineers
will be hands-on with software and hardware. With strategic accounts, system
level and architecture will be the focus. The Business Development
Engineers will make decisions to prioritize customers. The role offers a
range of work from technical details to customer management. The Field
Applications Engineer will communicate customer feedback to marketing. &#
8226; Measuring the customer’s hardware and software abilities •
Customer training • 40% travel required
Requirements: • Minimum of a BSEE • Applications Engineering
experience • System design experience • Working knowledge of
hardware design and layout, power supply, and how semiconductors work with
platform hooks and interfaces • Working knowledge of software
development • Experienced with microprocessors and RF • Business
knowledge and involvement • Knowledge of sales cycles and product
life cycles • Ability to understand customers and judge risk •
Entrepreneurial background • Strong interpersonal skills •
Excellent communication and presentation skills • Team player who can
work independently
Preferred: • ZigBee experience • Experience with consumer
