An engineer with responsibilities for performing Li-Ion battery cell and
pack level life, thermal, and performance simulation, analyzing battery cell
test data, developing battery models based on test results, and providing
technical advises to internal and external customers for the design
optimization of an automotive Li-Ion battery pack.
Responsibilities:
Involve in the development and maintenance of an in-house battery life
simulation software.
Perform battery pack performance, thermal and life analysis under a
given driving cycles and ambient conditions to provide guidance for pack
sizing, performance compliance, and pack thermal management system design.
Analyze cell test results and develop battery models for pack
performance and life simulation.
Provide technical supports to internal users of the in-house battery
simulation software.
Effectively communicate his/her findings to internal/external customers
using appropriate media.
Work with product and design engineers in battery pack cooling concept
development.
Participate in battery test and validation activities, including test
plan set up, project coordination, test involvement, project schedule, and
test results analysis.
Interacts with product engineers to conduct root cause analysis, and to
provide technical proposals and solutions to resolve engineering problems.
Establishes and maintains technical communications and open issue list
for assigned work.
Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge in Heat and Mass Transfer, Computing Algorithms and
Electrochemistry.
Sophisticated programming skills using MATLAB and Simulink with a
tracking record.
Working knowledge of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, battery system
control and BCM algorithms, and knowledge on SOC/SOH algorithm.
Effective communication skills demonstrated by interacting with
customers, suppliers and co-workers in a positive and constructive manner.
Self-motivated, details oriented, and willingness to learn new
technology.
Education/Experience
Ph.D degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or
Mechanical Engineering.
More than 5 years experience in using MATLAB and Simulink.
2+ experience in simulation, software development, or Li-Ion battery
modeling in automotive industry or at research institution, 5+ years’
experience is preferred
Experience in battery pack development for Micro HEV, HEV, PHEV and EV
is a plus. |
