this may have escaped some of you but there is an article in WSJ today about
the pending reform of China's healthcare system. I am sure you can check
out the article in the paper but here are some highlights:
a) Mao's system of DanWei based 'primary care clincs' will be making a
return. the concensus seems that while crude, the Mao system did manage to
cover most Chinese in the 60s and 70s.
