找母语不是英语的老师，因为it takes one to know one.
大家觉得呢？我的英语不错，但是不是英语科班出生的，也没有学过linguistics啥的
，就是从小对英语感兴趣，喜欢英语阅读和写作，当然我也知道和native speaker比起
来我还有很长很长的路要走。 |

can go into core subject classrooms and provide support for ESL students. It
's such a meaningful job. In the past, schools simply labelled ESL students
"disabled" and never provided the appropriate support they needed.
I don't think job market would look bad, especially now that you are a legal
permanent resident in a state with many immigrants. Please keep us updated
on what's going on in your study! |

easy way in this world, especially in America.
I talked with the program coordinator and a senior faculty at the ESL
department today. They gave me very good advice though they only have fall
admission. So I have to wait for another year to get enrolled. I have two
questions:
1.Has anyone ever taken the Oral Proficiency Interview(OPI) in English by
ACTFL before?
2.If so, can anyone give some good advice about the OPI exam |

once u make your mind,
don't regret. You got to know there's no easy way out in this world. Anyway,

experience here. As a matter of fact, I do wanna someone to advise me on how
to improve my English. I still write with a Chinglish style.
I guess there is no shortcut to learning English. I try to read local
newspapers, New York Times every week. Library is another good source. Since
my husband works for university, I have the privilege of borrowing books
free and can hold them for a long time if nobody recalls them. Recen |

这里有转行学教育的么？我朋友和我父母都觉得我有点亏，大学辛苦学了4年经济学，
研究生还在这边选了经济学的课，就这么放弃了。不过大家也知道这边经济学的MS.PH.
D专业太数量，不太喜欢。
今天一早就醒了，心里还在默念要不要换专业。不过我有个预感，觉得自己学ESL能学
的很好；而要是去读经济学心里就没有这个底气。 |

best of her_____her thick but charming accent. She offers more than her
English knowledge,her understanding of learning styles helps tailor her
teaching to meet students' individual needs. She sees her foreigner status
as an advantage of building a two-way learning in her class atmosphere.
Putting on your thinking hat, you will have out-of-box ideas.

中国人在美国做老师，难度都是很大的，除非是教哑语的...（大家不要笑，还真的有这
个例子。）
你提到要教ESL英语，不知道你的定位是什么学生、什么学校？
中学阶段对ESL的定义是ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE。同时，还有许多别的LEVEL，
比如ELL（English Language Learner),包括LES (Limited English Speaker), LER(
Limited English Reader), and LEW (Limited English Writer)。
ESL的标准是，学生母语不是英语，并且无法以英语完成各个科目的课程，需要强化训练
。它主要是面向新移民学生和少部分印第安学生的。所以可以想象，如果是在特大城市，
就业会相对方便一些。
ELL的学生更多一些。只要学生的家庭里面通行一种以上的语言，那么只要他有会话、阅
读甚至是写作的困难的话，都符合ELL教学的条件。许多拉丁裔，亚裔，非裔，印第安裔
，甚至是白人都符合它的标准。大部分公立中小学校都设有ELL的课程，所以就业机会更
多一些。
