about. Some of them are related to education which I'm sure many people have
thought about:
1.) Does giving praise harm children? Some psychologists argue that it makes
a child dependent on approval from others and can undermine spontaneous
interest in an activity, or that the self-esteem movement of the 1970s was
actually harmful because it lead parents to praise children too much, even

these questions:
1. It's great that psychologists finally started to re-think the self-esteem
movement and behaviorism. Actually a recent research finding does suggest
that positive self-image and personal satisfaction do not necessarily bring
about improved achievement. In a comparative study, when compared to other
nations, the US students reported highest satisfaction and confidence
towards their math achievement, while | h********c 发帖数: 223 | 3 About ADHD diagnosis, I've heard that the schools and teachers sometimes
would push for diagnosis and medication because it makes their job easier,
and that's one reason that people are questioning about over-diagnosis in
ADHD. Has anyone heard of or encountered it before? |
