发帖数: 1034 | 2 Even though I was an English major back in college, it still took me 4-5
years to completely catch up with listening. You can't improve it by simply
listening to tapes. Here are some things that have helped me:
-Listen to National Public Radio (NPR) programs
-Engage in more conversations with native speakers, and mark down the
colloquial usages in your heart
-Improve vocabulary by reading mainstream newspaper --USA Today for one. I
am still keeping a notebook for all the new words/phrases I enco | x**c
发帖数: 1435 | 3 you can try the legal guardian lady on one of my children cases, she is very
chatty and always holds me on the phone for nonsense, she talks faster
than she thinks and rambles and jumps topic before you can catch. After a
year painful experience with her, my english rocks (not socks).

What you listed are exectally what I did and am doing now, especially the
notebook for the new words even the short phrases when native speakers,
including those "dirty" words. haha | b********5

friends with. They will keep talking to you nonstop. I promise you your
listening skill will improve in one or two months. | w***h
