我有绿卡，今年是第四年。目前在在一家公立学校教书，州教育局曾经要我签一个文件
表示一旦等满五年就准备入籍。难道公立学校规定教师一定要是公民或有入籍意向吗？ |

an affidavit and I believe it is for certification purpose rather than for
the public schools you're working for. It really depends on the state's
requirement for certification. |

Do I have to give up my Chinese citizenship to keep my job in the U.S.
public school system? Legitimately,I can not teach without a teaching
certificate.

发帖数: 223 | 7 I've never encountered this. Is there anyone with similar experience? I
think the state department of education may try to make sure you've become a
US citizen before re-issuing/renewing/changing your certification, when
your current certification expires. |

发帖数: 288 | 11 我在纽约，这个好像有印象。我觉得入籍挺好的，可以投票，形成一定的势力，华人在
美国也更有发言权，更好维护自己的利益。旅游的话也很方便，很多国家不用签证。有
双重国籍当然好，可惜不是一个选择。 |
