z**r 发帖数: 17771 | 1 Today, IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) have officially handed out
the last remaining unallocated blocks of IPv4 addresses.
This is an important date and event in the history of the Internet. It also
means pace toward IPv6 migration will quicken as IPv4 address depletion at
the global level have taken place. Regional level depletion is projected to
be within next 6~9months depending on individual allocation rates and
policies. |
s*****g 发帖数: 1055 | 2 IPv4 depletion is partly due to demand, and partly due to reckless
allocation, I have seen many clients that were allocated 2 /24 blocks from
their ISPs, but what they need (and they are actually using) is only a
handful of IPs.

(((2^32) / 3 600) / 24) / 365 = 136.19252
So if a computer can do one echo request and wait for positive/negative echo reply within one second, it takes 136 years to cycle through the full IPv4 address space, of course this problem can easily be distributed, but it is still a bad idea.
I did not expect IPv4 address space is that huge.
