Application acceleration, application security, application reliability应该就
是未来一段时间application networking的主要方向了。 | h****e 发帖数: 2125 | 2 XML acceleration not only means to accelerate time-consuming tasks like
XSL transformations(XSLT) and schema validation, but also
security-related features like encryption and filtering. Say we've got
XML acceleration appliance, we use it to shed portions of XML processing
from application, which helps back-end application server a lot.
For example, the appliance can respond to SOAP messages, probably through
HTTP (SOAP can operate on almost any transport, but XML accelerators

不是需要压缩,解压缩,可对于网络设备来说,就不那么好办了 | l***y 发帖数: 791 | 4 application performace mgmt is not an easy task, i don't think
HP is a good choice.
just read this part:
"For those of you keeping score, we at Cisco have increasingly been talking
about the role the network plays in the grand world of applications, and
blanketing our website, press releases, powerpoints, partners’ in-boxes, etc.
with a new set of Cisco acronyms."
"blanketing" isn't that grand? some tech writer they hire for this gig. lol

is the goal, but the key point is how to classify the application. The
traditional layer 7 switch can classify the traffic based on the layer 3/4 and
the application(layer7) header, but not very deep packet inspection, if xml
routing/acceleration moves onto DPI and content basis, there would be huge
challenge, right?
consideration.

| h****e 发帖数: 2125 | 16 xml has binary format. most appliance
vendors convert the traffic into binary format by using their software
stacks or hardware, and do other XSLT stuff, taht's called acceleration.
Some hardware processing units operate at 1g wire speed, which means
they can process xml traffic at giga-bit/sec.
