A consortium of telecommunications giants and private equity firms are said to
be mulling a bid for Vodafone Group, according to the Daily Mail of London.
Verizon Communications, Spain's Telefonica and private equity firm Blackstone
Group are reportedly looking to fund a 160 pence-a-share offer for the world's
largest mobile-phone carrier. The notion of such a daring bid drew some
skepticism, and Blackstone early Monday denied knowing anything about a deal. |
