The client set a quite low MTBE effluent limit. I need to find out how
efficient an activated sludge system (with a SRT>25 days) can be in term of
MTBE removal. Recently there is literature showing that MTBE is not that
recalcitrant to biodegradation. However, based my understanding, there are
no conclusive data available yet.

will remove some by degradation and sorption, but it may not be very

though.

发帖数: 823 | 4 我前阵子做了个literature review，不是关于MTBE的，而是关于一般的micro-
pollutants (pharmaceuticals, personal care products, hormones, etc）的去除。
一般的WWTP，设计的时候考虑的参数和目标只是宏观污染物的去除，BOD, NH3-N, P等
。我没有发现哪个厂的设计里头考虑这些微量污染物去除的。
activated sludge process 可以通过sorption, aerobic biodegradation,
hydrolysis, photolysis, and volatilization 去除一些污染物。其中以前两个机理
最重要。现在研究比较多的是长SRT 带来的好处。虽然有不少不错的结论出来，但还是
研究阶段，我没发现用到设计实际水厂的。但是MTBE备不住可以air stripping出来，
这个我没查过。
有趣的是，MBR 的有效性跟膜的特性有关。虽然维持比较高的SRT时，MBR会把HRT降很
多，但是但是去除这些微量污染物的时候，ultra-filtration memb
