currency for the first time in over a week as US funds repatriated assets and
investors took profits on the single currency's sharp gains.
The euro fell to $0.9860 against the US currency, its lowest level since
Friday 12 July, before recovering to $0.9905. It closed at $1.0079 in New York
on Monday.
