生活水平比在北美一下子下降不少。问题是还是工资太低，签offer时候我没觉得，因
为我不知道这里有多贵，现在感觉到了。太郁闷了。。 来之前买了好几瓶la mer..过
来一看，shoot..我工资根本负担不起用这玩意。。。
而且没朋友，好郁闷。。。。都想辞职了。。 |

So many people smoke on the street. Faces are so uptight and distant.
Friends you can always make along the way. However, people are in genera are
not very easy to approach I would say.

我在苏黎世一个多月了，从喜欢到讨厌到现在又开始喜欢:p不过即使在讨厌的时候，如果
让我再选一遍，我可能还是会选瑞士，主要是因为最后拿到手的钱还是比别的地方多啊。
别的缺点，也就很可以忍了。而且还是有很多的优点的。这里的景色太美了。我在5楼
工作，
窗外那叫一个美啊。已经有好多黄昏，我后悔自己之前没带单反过来了。
然后这里的吃的比英国和美国好。这里的法餐，意大利餐都更地道。面包和cheese就更
比英
美好了不知道多少倍了。据说面包原料都一样，但是因为不同的加工方法，结果差很多。
这里的巧克力，咖啡也比美国的强多啦。
然后瑞士的交通多便宜啊。根本不用买车。在美国不买车基本活不下去。不用买车的城
市比
瑞士也便宜不了多少了。还有好多好处不详列了。缺点也有不少，比方说当地人对外国
人的
态度。
如果在瑞士和美国我只能拿到一样多的税后工资，那我肯定也去美国，那里便宜多了。
如果你在瑞士觉得你的生活水平降低了，而且不完全是因为在美国你有house在这里
只能住flat，那么你确实应该认真的考虑回美国去。

I wouldn't consider life in Switzerland stands for live in europe. (no
affense to friends here working in switzerland. I almost went there as well)
. For most europeans, switzerland is not europe at all. Working pressure and
suicide rate of switzerland tops all other european countries. Buying power
of swiss is lower than germany. Swiss people are very cold and racies.
For the rest of EU countries, I think the main advantage comparing to US is

Different people have different view on certain things, I am sure
switzerland is good in some ways, it's just I can not find it. Maybe I can
see it if my previous offer doubles its figure. :-)
Oh, one thing for sure, chinese restaurant in switzerland is a nightmare.

Not having decent Chinese restaurant is not a big deal. And if it is,
you should only stay in certain big cities in China.

discretionary money.
the ones like me, who don't like here, are the ones who have the same amount
of discretionary money as in North America. Things in Switzerland are more
expensive here.
p.s. things that i normally use
- Mouth Wash (250ml Listerine) 15 CHF compare to 5 dollar in US (1.5 litre)
- cosmetics (no matter US brand or French Brand or Switzerland Brand, e.g.
LP they're more expensive here than US)

Are you kidding?
Zurich is definitely more expensive. Just look at the "most expensive
citieis to live in" ranking list. And when my friend and I visited Lausanne
and Geneva, we were like, oh that's so cheap......even though it's still
technically very expensive, compared to Zurich prices, it's not bad. How
pathetic.
But I do like it here a lot.

瑞士的食物是很贵，但是他们的卫生标准的确比美国严格。不用担心肉里激素过量。
服装的价格差别不大。住房跟美国那几个大城市差不多，比美国一般城市贵。
交友的确是个大问题。我建议你去上一些cantonschule，法语不知道是什么，就是
社区学校。我的很多同事都在里面学音乐啦，美术啦，外语啦。我在苏黎世学过一阵
德语，是migros的学校。认识的也都是外国人，比较有共同语言，有时候晚上还一起出
去。
然后就是跟日内瓦的中国学生会取得联系，参加他们的活动。

途旅行一次。。。。。。
一个月怎么也得花掉3000以上
成了家的就不一样了，如果两个人都工作，能存一大笔钱。

the expenses to raise a kid in swiss is not that high.
the expenses for public daycare is subsidized, around 600-800 CHF for the
salary of a phd student or postdoc.
