Multiple GRA positions are available at Ohio State University for CS or ECE
Ph.D. students to work on computer architecture and computer systems. A
professor will move to the ECE department of the Ohio State University (
Columbus) in Fall 2011 as an Associate Professor. He is currently looking
for multiple (2 or 3) Ph.D. students to start in Fall 2011. Students will
work on power-aware computer systems and computer architecture. Power
consumption has become one of the most important concerns for both embedded
systems and large-scale data centers that host thousands of high-density
computer servers. The Power-Aware Computer Systems (PACS) Laboratory has
received multiple significant research grants from NSF, ONR, Microsoft
Research, and IBM to optimize the performance of computer systems within
stringent power constraints. The research results have been published
recently in top conferences (such as ISCA, HPCA, RTSS, ICDE, PACT) and
premier journals (various IEEE/ACM Transactions).
Students are expected to have Master degrees in CS or ECE and considerable
research experience in computer architecture, operating systems, control
systems, or related fields. Exceptional undergraduate students with
considerable research experience may also be considered. Interested students
please send their resumes ASAP based on the guideline provided at http://www.ece.utk.edu/~xwang/prospective.htm . Applications will be reviewed immediately after being received. Visiting scholars or students are also welcome to contact the PACS lab for possible opportunities.
The application deadline of the ECE Ph.D. program at Ohio State is May 31. http://ece.osu.edu/futurestudents/graduate/application
Therefore, students who didn't apply to Ohio State for Fall 2011 please also
feel free to send their resumes. Selected students still have a chance to
start in Fall 2011. |
