PLoS journals charge $2,500 per paper, because they are open access (cannot make money otherwise).
Nature, Cell, etc. are free but charge color figures (1st figure $250,
additional figures $500 each).

ASM journal ask for page charges.
Both are big societies. Case by Case
Open access journals always ask for money for publication. |

发帖数: 45 | 18 很多journal收publication fee的，看专业。这种杂志一般是这样，
有个basic publication fee，譬如10页内，只需要交这个，10页+
的话，会对额外的page收extra charge，一般来说basic publication
fee是可以waive的，你发email给journal editor确认下就行，
extra charge一般是不能waived（也有例外），所以当然论文越长
publication fee越高。到底论文费多少看杂志，我最近的一篇
大概20页，basic publication fee waive以后还交了大概1000多美元。
仔细研究下你投的论文收publication fee的细则，适当调整一下
文章内容和结构（without sacrificing science），还是能省点钱的。
譬如，有的杂志one figure accounts for one additional page，
所以可以把两幅相关的图合并成一幅（即Fig. 1+Fig. 2弄成Fig. 1a
+Fig. 1b），等等。

费。版面费只在中国交过。
