This is a blog from a Singapore taxi driver, a former professor in National

At the entrance to a construction site of an HDB housing project, a young
man in late twenties flagged down my taxi and asked me in Chinese to wait
for him to bring some boxes. He filled my taxi with carton boxes and
suitcases and told me to go t | a**e
发帖数: 5794 | 2 如果他是新加坡公民，当然可以这么干。但是中国人在新加坡很少能
在两年内变成公民的。如果他继续开出租，下次renew PR时会被拒，
只好回国开出租。两边开出租挣的钱绝对值差不多，考虑到物价，在
国内开出租还是爽一点。

发帖数: 88 | 3 are you sure he was a NUS professor? i could not find that info anywhere
in
his blog. the only thing i can see is that he worked for ASTAR for 16 year
before his contract got terminated.
Also checked his publications on ISI: 12 papers. | r****e
发帖数: 101 | 4 I stayed briefly in IMCB 7 years back, it's a very prestigious place (they
say it's the best research institute in biology in Asia? I don't know), this
guy has his PhD degree from Standford in 1990, with good publlication
records since then (especially quality-wise). He has become Singapore
citizen for long so he has no much choice other than becoming a taxi driver,
he, however, hasn't chosen to move back to China, why? And it's in fact so
weird that those A* institutes are under control of a fe | p******e

说不定这位比较重质量呢
外行还是别来评价吧，光会查个isi就能评价人做的如何了？
有人说这位的工作还是很牛的
