school to stop her tenure clock. And she used that year to concertrate on
her research and get some publications. Basically, you could get one more "
free" year to do research without influencing your tenure.

important thing is how you can handle both.
The other important issue here is, the older the women are, the harder they
give birth to healthy babies. Women of age over 35 will go through much more
pre-birth exams than the rest. So for any female faculty who plans to have
baby after tenure, I suggest you think twice about the risk.

negotiate it. It applies to all faculty, both female and male.
