the US, this is very unprofessional and may make people wonder you are
distracting or showing off your age.
Sometime applicants even include photos, which makes it feel double weird. |

CV should only include things that committee can use to argue for you or
against you in selection. Picture is of no use in this regard. A
committee member can never reject an applicant just because he/she is not
good looking enough. On the other hand, he is perfectly justifiable to
reject someone whose publication list is too short. |

however, it is OK to put your birthyear there for academic jobs.
but for industrial jobs, you should not list your birthyear there because
some hiring people will think it is age-discrimination if they choose you as
a younger candidate among older ones --- old people tend not to reveal their age.
your marital status should be carefully avoided in your CV.
in your interview, they will find out from your wedding ring if there
