l*******7 发帖数: 431 | 5 啊? 我怎么以为是控制欲比较强的意思呢?我曾经用这个词来形容我们认识的一个人
,我的老美同事都深以为然。刚查了下,yahoo answers 说
“It can mean that someone is overbearing, is demanding, or simply has a
strong "presence" when they're around. Such people can be very good leaders
if they don't overwhelm the people around them.”
“It can mean bossy, but it also means someone's personality overpowers
those around him.
An example is the person who enters a room and all eyes turn toward that
person. That person talks a lot and doesn't really listen.” |

not get along with others. It is never a positive term. I know somebody
with a strong personality did not get her tenure due to that even though she
is a competent person and did her job well. |

他说是褒义
当然”somewhat" 很突兀 |

John is an intelligent and hard-working researcher. He has somewhat strong
personality, but I had no problem getting along with him. He has exceptional
skill that will make him an excellent researcher, once he devote to it. I
think he will be a valuable asset to your department. |
