approached by National Taiwan University (NTU) to join their faculty.
But as soon as they learned that this person holds a Chinese passport, they
apologized and took back the offer.
On another note, why bother going to Taiwan? You will face some weird kind
of discrimination (省籍情结). I visited Taiwan recently and have a
feeling of a mild version of 文革going on there. But in general, their
research is not bad. Most fa |

发帖数: 1835 | 6 Assistant Professor: NTD 70K/mon (~ 25K/year USD). In in Taipei, this is
hard to maintain a decent life. Like mainland, they offer certain bonus
for every publication and grant. But still, too low compared to what USA
pays.
If you qualifies sinica, you will most likely qualify for PKU, THU or 中科院
's equivalent positions. Sinica holds a very high standard, based on my
observation. |

ll is not the only source of income. "1k ppl plan" or sth like that does pay
more.
However, in general, the taiwan offer pays more once housing prices and livi
ng expenses are taken into account.

后评tenure。所以大概跟国内的副教授等级相当。
Again,现下岛内政治气氛太浓，不宜大陆背景的人发展。

端的。台湾因为经济上有求与大陆（比如大陆游客，陆资来台），所以对大陆人士已没
有十几年前的霸气，反而客气有加。其实不要说台湾，老美这次recession之后民众也
对中国刮目相看。不过台湾人喜欢政治话题，喜欢上岗上线，很有文革的味道。这点不
好。 |

你想 他們本來對你很感興趣 如果你能去給個演講 或是做些學術交流 對他們也是很有
收穫的 更何況中研院關於學術交流的經費還是很多的
