to new people - try to talk to big shots in your field
during conferences so that they can know you.
Otherwise, invite people to your dept. seminar will
help you establish some connections.

How to know their personalities? I guess we need nice people who can say
good words during the review.

they will also be able to tell you who they think would
be nice (potential) reviewers.

the department. In that case, how do you have any control?
Another question: can you ask somebody in front say "could you be my
external reviewer?" Is that too aggressive?

but does not have close collaboration. It's hard.

发帖数: 56 | 8 Get your AE or editor to write if they accepted your paper, because:
1. they are usually big names.
2. they are familiar with your work.
3. they are positive about your paper.
If all three conditions are there, it is hard not to choose them. |
