because there is nothing fancy, no figure, no photo, no pictorial graph
text is the plainest way to convey information
no need to save on file and attach
no need for receiver to download and view
take less storage space
take less bandwidth to transmit
save the earth, will ya
but that is not the point
how difficult is it for this fat creature to copy&paste
and generate a PDF or DOC by herself while she is sitting there
doing almost nothing

If you treat your application seriously (which you should), then a well formatted doc file looks so lot nicer than text.

怎么不想想，plain text不是文本，copy－paste简单。但别人还要给你排版。用多大
字体，什么字体，行间距多少。给你
随便弄个9号字你多半嫌小，12号也许太大。。。Time Roman还是别的。。。
人家跟你要word或PDF无非就是要个你自己满意的最终版本然后就直接attach，print了
。省的揣摩你的想法再跟你确认一
遍而已。
