Religious reconciliation is critical to world peace. The key to that is
interpretation of God's plan and tolerance of differences.Misinterpretation
of the true meaning of religion causes conflicts with not only people of
different religions but also with people of the same religion.

Fundamentalists misinterpret the true meaning of religion. God does not want
people to kill others who disagree with them because He could have done the
killing easily. “Holy war” is misinterpretation of God’s plan and
militant people use it as an excuse to wage wars. Instead, God wants us to
enjoy our fellowship with Him and with one another. It is just against
common sense that a father would like to see his kids killing one another.
If more people are open to differences and disagreements, the world would
be a better place. In contrast,if people are less tolerant, they will fight
agaist one another, with regards to lots of issues. Conflicts may result in
wars; and wars can escalate to genocides or nuclear wars, which
might destroy human race. |
