phone messages for me yesterday. His student also emailed me to request a
visit to my lab, I did no yet reply.

my boss wrote crappy letter to say bad words about me. So, you can see you
are lucky. I find my current position without his letter at all.

to work for him as a volunteer for ever. After I left his lab for more than
6 years, my ex-boss (who did no write a letter for me) keeps asking me to
train his students (who will compete with my lab research directly).

G*********r 发帖数: 538 | 9 Why don't you just tell him 'no' nicely but firmly. You can say that you are
really glad to help but you are so busy now that you feel you can't spend
quality time with the student to train him/her. You don't want to waste the
student's time for coming to your lab but not learning anything. You would
let him know when you have more time to work with the student. That can be
ten years later.
If you don't know how to say 'no' as a faculty, you will have a hard time.
