and I am not in a position to judge your intellectual work. But I do notice
, from this long thread of conversations, that you are too defensive. You
fence and secure yourself by fighting against every sentence that you don't
like. It is not good for you, not for your career and neither for your
happiness. You don't listen to people---or, you choose only what you like to
listen to---so that people feel uncomfortable talking to you. Most of the
comments here are out of kindness, I can tell, but you judge people's
qualifications and act in a manner that you know more about your problem
than they do. Then, what is the point to look for help here in the first
place? Being defensive means that you are afraid of admitting your dark side
, and that you don't want to confront what really prevents you being a
better you. Your fragile personality is a stumbling block for your future
achievements, be it or not a contributing factor of your current hardness of
career.
The last piece of advice: please, always be confident, yet humble. | C*****l

啊。我都删了贴了。还这么热心呀。Everyone is defensive, including yourself. I
have nowhere else to go, so I have to be here. 说实话，老中大都不愿意和我交
流，尤其40岁以上的（这边的主流）。主要是这里太多人自尊心过强，到了畸形的地步

恨。和美国人比，心甘情愿后退。跟同胞这个可是万万不行，对吧？ 啊，原来我当初
费了吃奶的劲也进不去的学校出来的Ph.D. 也在Struggle呀？这下我可平衡了。对吧
？我费了千辛万苦可算发了CNS, 你怎么敢说三道四？对吧？ Randy Schekelman 可以
抵制CNS, 那是洋大人呀！你一个中国人怎么敢，对吧？我当初放弃了这个职业，是因
为这个葡萄是酸的，我不稀罕，你怎么敢说它甜！对吧？我当初和你水平差不多，我改

你的字里行间描述一片老中在这里和谐共处的景象，还是挺令人向往的。可这个不可能
了。要不就不会有屠奶奶到现在才被认可，还不是中国院士。要是你说的什么“
kindness”是真的，也就不会有什么卢刚，铊投毒了。当然也不会有什么中国学生，博
后之间下个毒，污染个同位素了。
我倒是借此向几位真正的热心人致谢。感谢你们给我发信。你们指出的弱点我都在争取
弥补。
另外，我还是想提请什么985副教授，说话别把什么“人品”不好，“废话” 和“牛逼
”，“滚一边去” 挂在嘴边。我知道你在国内说习惯了。可这里会有问题。你要非喜
欢说，不妨试试“牛x". 以后和老美套近乎时，多学学怎么不用“F'ck" 还能用生殖器
和pg 开玩笑！
我真得不在乎老中对我的话什么感受，我面对的不是中国高校。在我死之前，老中觉无
可能形成老印，老墨的阵势。我在乎这个干什么。这里很多人觉得我说话刺耳，这个很
正常。说皇帝没穿衣服的孩子肯定倒霉。不过，我在这里说说老中皇帝，绝无大碍。

“鱼丸”可能被说中了，于是及其自信地在这里洋洋洒洒。要不就是被美国同事或者学

。我想这个帖子起到了我绝没有想到的效果，不过又验证了我对广大老中的看法。这个
在”生物版“是常事，看来在这里有可能也成为常事。
