1000 lbs of trout from the Mt. Lassen Fish Hatchery were planted on Tuesday,
April 16. The current plan is for Fish and Wildlife to plant 2000 lbs of
trout this Friday We also anticipate planting 5000 lbs of Lassen Trout this
Friday. Much of the South Cove will be closed to fishing on Thursday night
until Saturday morning.

发帖数: 1936 | 2 Fishing Derbies Headline Marina Grand Reopening Saturday
Two types of fishing derbies will highlight the Grand Reopening of the Los
Vaqueros Marina Saturday. There will be 8,000 pounds of trout planted in
the reservoir this week.
The first competition is a conventional derby, with prizes of fishing
equipment awarded through eight places for adults and children.
The derby starts at 6 a.m. and will continue through 6:30 p.m. The top prize
for adults (over 16 years of age) is a Supreme XTt spin reel and Okuma
Reflexion spin rod. The top prize for kids (15 and under) is a Fenwick
Eagle GT spin rod and Pflueger President spin reel.
In addition, there will be a derby for catching tagged fish. Anglers
catching those fish can win prizes ranging from free boat rentals to Ugly
Stick fishing combos. We’ll be accepting tagged fish through the end of
the month. The tags are about two inches long, attached to the back of the
fish, and say “Los Vaqueros” on them.

Other activities at the Marina Saturday include two bird watching hikes, two
kids’ fishing clinics and archeology and cultural history displays and
demonstrations by the archeologists who have worked at Los Vaqueros.
LV is still green and the weather forecast looks good for warm weather and (
fingers crossed!) calm breezes.
South Cove Will Be Closed Thursday Night through Saturday
Because we are planting so many fish in the South Cove, it will be closed on
Thursday night through Saturday morning. We're expecting 8,000 pounds of
trout to be planted this week at Los Vaqueros. | t******g
