发帖数: 1192 | 1 The weekend weather forecast is rain on Saturday night, and super windy on
Sunday. Yeah, the big Fall cold front is here. The ideal fishing time is
Saturday. But I could not go...
So fished the windy Sunday instead. Oh, yeah, I am impressed how accurate
the weather forecast is. Wind started kicking in at 10:00am, and it was
super strong, gusting over 30mph. Any finesse presentation was impossible,
and the bass were not aggressive enough to take any reaction lures here.
Frustrated, I walked along the bank covering my ears with my fishing hood to
get warm... Then I saw something strange. A huge school of carps were
swarming along the bank, as shallow as only one feet off the bank. What?
Looked like they were taking advantage of the huge wind today... There has
been lack of O2 in this lake due to the low water level, and the wind today
has recharged the water along the windy bank with O2. The carp congregated
here to get comfortable.
Hm... Great! I immediately tied my biggest 5/0 bass hook on. Throwing the
bare hook past the carp and start dragging along the bank. The dirty water
and the wind helped cover my presence, and the carps didn't even notice any
threat.
Started snagging into fish right away. Big ass carp, and fun to fight and
land. Then another fish, then another fish...
The trick is to get the snagged fish away from the school as quickly as
possible, so the rest of them can continue their business. Snagged into
woods and brushes a few times. Whenever that happened, I just silently broke
off the hook without spooking any fish.
I tried to take some photos, but realized that I forgot my cell phone at
home. But that is OK... Having the greatest sight fishing with carp snagging
ever made my day.
Snagged about 10 carps in the 2 hours of time I spent on that windy bank.
All fish were released. | u******w

发帖数: 1192 | 3 Yes, I have seen them like that in spring too, except I was too busy fishing
bass to bother them in the spring time frame.:-)

mouth of the big carps.
