eventful offseason and a rare Super Bowl loss firmly in the rearview mirror.
The defending AFC champions spent most of the morning and early afternoon
checking in for training camp at Saint Vincent College, though quarterback
Ben Roethlisberger(notes) and linebacker James Harrison(notes) managed to
avoid the media horde that awaited at Rooney Hall.
Harrison raised eyebrows following inflammatory comments made during an
interview with Men’s Journal magazine published earlier this month, taking
shots at Roethlisberger and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell among others. He
since apologized and his teammates called it no big deal.
Defensive tackle Casey Hampton(notes) says Harrison doesn’t need to explain
himself, he only needs to show up and play well on Sundays. |
