发帖数: 9375 | 14 I don't think the sign-and-trade trick works in the NFL even if all three parties want it happen, because the entire
signing bonus will be immediately counted against the old team for the current
league year. That's a 8-figure number in Brees' case. Only a restructure-and-trade occurred once in a while.
And an (exclusive) tag simply means if both sides can agree, a certain
salary will be paid for a one-year service, nothing more and nothing less.
The player cannot be traded, at least not before he signs the tag and
becomes a team property again. Heck, I am not even sure if the team can
still remove the tag and let player walk at this point.
