ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on the Rams inquiring about Favre's
availability after losing starter Sam Bradford to a season-ending knee
injury.
However, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that Rams officials said
they called Favre's longtime agent Bus Cook to ask about quarterback Austin
Davis, a Cook client whom they wound up signing.
Rapoport reports that at some point during the phone conversation, a Rams
official said, "Hey, what about Favre?" and that "everyone had a good laugh."
Rapoport said a Rams source told him, "It was just a joke, a throw-away line
