Though neither Roger Goodell nor Tom Brady appeared in the courtroom, today
might’ve been the single most important day in this whole Ballghazi mess:
the NFL and NFLPA made their cases in front of a three-judge panel that will
decide, once and for all (barring one more appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court
, which will never happen), whether Brady will serve the four-game
suspension initially imposed for his role in the Patriots’ ball-deflation
scandal.
Despite this appeals hearing feeling like an afterthought, it sounds like
the judges were remarkably sympathetic to the NFL.

Clement: Goodell found Brady's testimony to be not credible. Says court
should not "second guess" that finding
Parker calls Brady "one of the most celebrated athletes in the game." But he
suggests that this may argue in favor of punishment.
Parker, going after Kessler: "Anyone within 100 yards of this would have
realized that the cell phone issue raised the stakes in this thing"

Judge Parker on Brady destroying his cell phone: “Mr. Brady’s explanation
of that made no sense whatsoever.”
Woah. Judge Chin says evidence of ball tampering was "compelling, if not
overwhelming."
At one point Kessler became exasperated with the judges. “I sense that you
all are influenced by your version of the facts.”

Attorney Dan Wallach, who has been all over this case, predicts a 2-1 loss
by Tom Brady with the appeal judges.

My inital take on the NFL appeal hearing: NFL's likely confident it will win
2 to 1. The judges focused on giving high deference to Goodell.

TAKEAWAY: Two of the three judges (Parker and Chin) appeared to favor NFL.
That's all you need to win. BUT, it's always hard to predict. | m********s 发帖数: 55301 | 2 哦耶,输给大白菜就是这个下场
