Rodgers on retaining ball after massive hit vs. Cowboys: 'Size matters'
One important play from the Green Bay Packers' 34-31 win over the Dallas
Cowboys in the divisional round of the playoffs seems to have been forgotten
, but it had a large impact on the game.
With the game tied 31-31 and 30 seconds left on the clock, Packers
quarterback Aaron Rodgers was rocked by Cowboys safety Jeff Heath for a 10-
yard sack. Heath caught Rodgers by surprise and nailed him in the back, yet,
though he was holding the ball in one hand, Rodgers didn't fumble it. He
also quickly called timeout to preserve the precious final seconds.
Two plays later, Rodgers found Jared Cook for the critical reception that
would lead to Mason Crosby's game-winning field goal.
In his press availability on Wednesday, Rodgers was asked how he managed to
hold on to the ball. To that, he held up both hands.
"Size matters," he said.
