Patriots had been taking advantage of Brady wanting to finish in Patriots
uniform to lowball him.
The contract for Brady last year is 23M, already way lower than the Market.
The year Patriots made it clear that it would be lower than 23M.
Patriots don't even try to embrace Brady as Saints did to Brees. Saints
opened its arms to welcome Brees back. Even though 25M is lower than Brees'
market value but it is still decent with token of respect.
Patriots don't even try to show respect to make a comparable offer to what
Brees got from Saints (even that is below the market figure for Brees
himself and 25M is below for either Brees or Brady).
Looking at all the so far signing to and leaving from Patriots, Patriots are
in somewhat rebuilding period. It doesn't want to shed much money on the
quarterback position. Patriots don't feel the necessity to honor Brady
either.
Just cold pure money calculation from Patriots who is always going cheap and
they certainly calculated that the loss of Brady would not cause much to
themselves either.
Brady saw no love and no prospect from Patriots. Making a decision leaving
