The best power/cost is Arch Angel.
$5000, A/D/H/Damage=30/30/250/50, and speed=18 is awesome!
Besides Arch Angel also perform resurrection during a combat.
My suggestion is:
1) Generally choose castle as your home.
2) Recruit as many heroes who can bring you $350 a day.
3) S/L, if you really want to get high score, first play it
with "normal" difficulty and then with "impossible".
(this will make you feel boring, :-))
